About This Access Site
Mescalero Lake is a scenic 105-acre mountain lake located in Otero County near Ruidoso, New Mexico, adjacent to the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino. The boat ramp is situated near the campground area, providing convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and other paddlers. The lake is known for its clean water and beautiful setting within the southern New Mexico mountains, making it an appealing destination for both water-based recreation and fishing.

**Access & Regulations:** Non-motorized and electric motor boats are permitted during daylight hours from April through November. There is no entry fee, and convenient parking is available at the access area. Boat rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Boat Dock (575-464-7957). The site is located approximately 2 hours southeast of Reserve, NM. Note that access roads may be affected by winter weather conditions, so plan accordingly and check conditions before traveling during shoulder seasons.
