Methodist Landing Recreation Park offers public boat access to Anacoco Lake in northwestern Louisiana. The facility features a one-lane concrete boat ramp with an adjacent dock and gravel parking area, located off Par Road 12 on the northwest section of the lake. This is a gated recreational park maintained by the Vernon Parish Police Jury and serves as a full-service launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters.
Beyond the ramp itself, Methodist Landing provides excellent amenities for a full day of paddling or fishing. The park includes twelve campsites with electricity, water and sewer hookups, restrooms with showers, a fish-cleaning station, covered picnic areas, and designated swimming and fishing areas. The dock area allows easy water access for launching small craft. Note that this is a gated facility; visitors should expect to check in at the entrance.
Anacoco Lake is best accessed by boat, making Methodist Landing an ideal put-in for exploring the lake's deeper areas and fishing grounds. If you prefer a free alternative launch point, the Anacoco Lake Spillway Store and RV Park also offers a public boat ramp on the opposite (southeast) section of the lake off Par Road 10.
