About This Access Site
Miller Community Lake offers a public boat ramp for easy water access in Van Buren, Carter County. This 27-acre lake features a one-mile hiking trail around its perimeter and picnic tables, making it a good spot for a half-day paddling and recreation trip. The boat ramp remains open for public use, providing convenient launching for kayaks, canoes, and small boats.

The access point is located near River Road Park, a Corps of Engineers campground situated just below Clearwater Lake Dam on the Current River. For directions, follow State Highway HH from Piedmont for 6 miles—signs will direct you to the park and boat ramp area. This scenic region is known for its natural springs, forested hillsides, and wildlife viewing opportunities, including year-round bald eagles. Look for wildlife and pretty landscapes on the Black River Hike and Bike Trail. The trail starts at River Road Park and connects with the Blue Heron and Bottomland interpretive trails.
