About This Access Site
Minnetaga Lake in Kandiyohi County offers a newly completed state-owned gravel boat ramp ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small to medium-sized motorboats. The access site features an on-site parking lot with 55 vehicle-with-trailer spaces plus 100 additional vehicle spaces, along with public restroom facilities. No launch fees are required at this access point.
The lake itself is a moderate-sized waterbody covering 791 acres with a maximum depth of 9 feet, making it relatively shallow. The water is turbid and productive, suitable for recreation and fishing. Paddlers should note that Minnetaga Lake has two public access points along the east shore, with this ramp being the primary developed access. The gravel ramp accommodates standard recreational boats (typically 12-18 feet), making it accessible for most kayaks, canoes, and recreational fishing boats.
