Moon Valley Access provides public boat and canoe/kayak access to the scenic Niangua River in Dallas County. The site features a gravel boat ramp and parking lot, making it a convenient launch point for paddlers and anglers. Located on County Road OO-126, the access is approximately 1.5 miles south of Bennett Spring State Park, then west 1.5 miles on Moon Valley Road (note: access crosses a low-water bridge).
The Niangua River is known for its clear water, scenic bluffs, sandbars, and numerous springs, offering excellent opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. This is a good access point for float trips along this beautiful Missouri river. About half a mile of direct access is available at the site. Paddlers should be prepared for typical Ozark river conditions and check water levels before planning their trip, particularly if crossing the low-water bridge during lower water periods.
