Morrison Rockwood State Park offers a well-maintained two-lane concrete boat ramp providing convenient access to Lake Carlton in Morrison, Illinois. The ramp is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats looking to explore this 2.9-mile shoreline lake. Note that motorized boats are limited to 10 HP and under, and all motor-powered vessels must operate at no-wake speeds to protect the shoreline.
Lake Carlton is recognized as one of Illinois's premier fishing destinations, with a maximum depth of 24 feet and plenty of room for paddlers and shore anglers alike. The park facilities include seasonal amenities from May through October, including a shower building, flushing toilets, and trailer dump stations. This makes Morrison Rockwood an accessible option for day trips and extended paddling or boating outings on a relatively calm, contained lake environment.
