About This Access Site
Located in Bloomington's Mount Normandale Lake Park, this boat launch provides convenient access to a scenic urban lake. The facility is limited to vessels with a maximum of 6 horsepower, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small recreational boats. Most 12-18 foot boats can be launched at the ramp. There are no launch fees unless a vehicle permit is required for park access.

The 1.9-mile loop around the lake offers a pleasant paddling route for kayakers and canoeists seeking a calm water experience. Beyond the water access, the park provides additional amenities including picnic areas, trailheads, and an amphitheater, making it a good spot for a full recreational outing. The lake's connection to Ninemile Creek and South Fork Ninemile Creek provides additional exploration opportunities for paddlers interested in creek paddling.
