Mowry State Park

Mowry State Park is a **boat-in-only facility** located 7 miles south of Coeur d'Alene on the scenic waters of Coeur d'Alene Lake. This unique boater destination features 16 tent camping sites, two mooring docks, a swimming beach, vault toilets, and drinking water—making it an excellent overnight destination for kayakers and canoeists. The park operates on a first-come, first-serve basis with nightly fees of $20 per campsite/boat camping spot. There is no vehicle access to the park; all visitors must arrive by water or walk in via a gated service road.

Paddlers launching from nearby Coeur d'Alene can access this destination by kayak, canoe, or motorized vessel. Before planning your trip, contact Kootenai County Parks & Waterlands at 208-446-1275 to confirm current conditions and availability. The City of Coeur d'Alene offers convenient launch facilities at the 3rd Street Boat Ramp (accessible from the Front Avenue parking lot at 3rd Street), making it an ideal starting point for the paddle south to Mowry Park.
