About This Access Site
The west access to Nest Lake is located off County Road 9 near New London in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. This public boat ramp provides free access to the 969-acre lake, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The ramp can accommodate boats up to 12-18 feet, though larger vessels may be possible depending on ramp conditions.
Nest Lake offers good paddling opportunities with a maximum depth of 40 feet. The lake is fed by the Middle Fork Crow River from the north and flows into Green Lake, creating interesting paddle routes for those exploring the watershed. Be aware that the lake currently has aquatic plant impairments, including Eurasian Water Milfoil and Curly-leaf Pond Weed. A second access point is available on the east side of the lake off State Highway 23 if you prefer an alternative launch location.
