About This Access Site
**North Access** is a public boat ramp located on the northeast shore of High Point Lake in Fort Hill, Somerset County, PA. This two-lane concrete ramp offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats, with paved parking accommodating approximately a dozen vehicles with trailers. The facility includes two launch ramps and associated parking areas, making it suitable for groups and those towing boats.

High Point Lake is a 277-acre recreation area popular with anglers and boaters. **Important note:** The lake was closed for a major dam rehabilitation project—check current status before planning your trip, as access may be limited or unavailable during construction. All unpowered boats (kayaks and canoes) must be registered or display a current launch permit. Innertubes and swim aids are not permitted.

For overnight trips, **Outflow Camping** is available within 10 miles as a reservable option. The lake sits in the scenic Laurel Highlands region near the Youghiogheny River Lake area, offering paddlers access to quality recreation in western Pennsylvania's natural landscape.
