About This Access Site
Located at 97177 Pogey Place in Fernandina Beach, this well-developed access point on the Amelia River offers excellent facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters. The ramp is impressively wide—accommodating three boats simultaneously—and features floating courtesy docks for easy boarding. The site includes 100 trailer parking spaces (with an additional satellite lot 800 feet away), a large octagon pavilion with picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and two fishing piers that extend into the water.

The Amelia River location near the St. Mary's River mouth provides convenient access to both calm river paddling and open Atlantic waters, making it suitable for various paddling skill levels and trip types. Whether you're launching for a fishing trip, exploring the river system, or heading to nearby Cumberland Island National Seashore, this ramp serves as a practical gateway. The comprehensive facilities and ample parking make it an excellent choice for group outings and day trips.
