North Point Recreation Area, also known as Randall Creek Recreation Area, offers boat access to Lake Francis Case on the Missouri River near Fort Randall Dam in southeastern South Dakota. The scenic area provides a boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger vessels, along with convenient amenities including flush and vault toilets, showers, fresh water stations, and a dump station. A South Dakota park entrance license is required to use the boat ramp and access the recreation area.
The site features a marina, picnic areas, fish cleaning station, and playground, making it suitable for day trips and extended stays. This location on the Missouri River corridor holds historical significance—Lewis and Clark paddled through this area in late August and early September of 1804. Note that water level conditions can affect ramp usability; contact South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks for current conditions before your visit, especially during high water periods.
