About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities:** Northport Harbor is located at the foot of Nagonaba Street off M-201 in Northport, at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula on Grand Traverse Bay. The site offers good parking and a two-lane boat ramp, though be aware that the approach is in very shallow water, which requires careful maneuvering during launch and loading. For the best protected launch conditions, note that there is also a ramp inside the marina breakwall, though trailer parking is more limited in that area.

**Services & Amenities:** The Northport Boat Yard and marina provide comprehensive services including fuel (gasoline and diesel), water, electricity, restrooms, shower facilities, and pump-out facilities. A harbor master is on-site to assist boaters. The facility has been in operation since 1965 and caters to cruising vessels and local paddlers. The immediate area offers convenient access to shops, restaurants, beaches, Leelanau State Park and its lighthouse, and other village amenities—making this a good base for exploring Grand Traverse Bay.

**Best For:** This is an ideal access point for kayakers and canoeists launching onto Grand Traverse Bay, as well as motorboats and larger vessels. Plan extra time if launching during busy periods, and exercise caution in the shallow approach waters.
