About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities**
Northport Marina Park is located at 7030 Chancellor Boulevard in North Port, Sarasota County, and provides direct access to Big Slough via Myakkahatchee Creek. The park features a well-maintained boat ramp with accessible floating launch systems (plastic floats with aluminum framing and PVC rollers), a courtesy dock, and parking for approximately 15 boat trailers. The 0.8-acre park also includes a small picnic pavilion.

**For Paddlers & Boaters**
This is an excellent put-in for kayakers and canoeists exploring the Myakka River system. From the launch, you can paddle upstream past the Myakka River Motor Coach Resort, explore protected shorelines along the east wall, or venture into the broader slough. The accessible ramp design makes it convenient for launching kayaks and canoes, and the courtesy dock provides convenient loading/unloading. The park is managed by Sarasota County Parks and Recreation and offers a straightforward, low-hassle access point for day trips and fishing outings.
