Lake Puckaway

**Overview & Access**
Located in Markesan, Green Lake County, the Oak Road boat ramp provides public access to Lake Puckaway, a 5,000-acre shallow lake in central Wisconsin. The ramp is approximately 16 feet wide and can accommodate small to medium-sized boats, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and recreational watercraft. The site features street parking and a designated parking lot for vehicle access.

**Permits & Amenities**
A seasonal permit is required to use this ramp (valid April through October). Permits cost $20 for Wisconsin residents, $40 for non-residents, and $5 for seniors—one purchase covers the entire season. Permits can be purchased at the Markesan Police Department. The site has minimal amenities, so plan accordingly. The ramp is publicly owned and maintained by the City of Markesan.

**Recreation Nearby**
Paddlers exploring the area will find the Fox River National Wildlife Refuge nearby, which encompasses over 1,000 acres of wetland and upland habitat. This refuge offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and complements paddling on the Fox River system. Lake Puckaway's shallow waters are popular for recreational boating and fishing.
