Oakland City New Lake

Oakland City New Lake is a 23-acre public access point located on the northeast side of Oakland in Gibson County, Indiana. The lake features a dedicated boat ramp facility, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. With a maximum depth of 8 feet and an average depth of 3.5 feet, this shallow lake is well-suited for recreational paddling and fishing activities. Bank fishing access is also available along the dam.

The site offers free parking and is open year-round, providing paddlers with a straightforward launching option for exploring the lake's calm waters and inlets. Given the lake's modest size and shallow depth, it's best suited for recreational paddlers rather than those seeking long-distance touring.
