About This Access Site
Okie Beach is a popular boat launch on Alcova Reservoir near Casper, offering convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The site features one public boat ramp along with five docks, making it well-suited for various watercraft. The campground has 36 reservation-only sites with amenities including three ADA-accessible sites, three restrooms, and a large group shelter. This is the first developed access point on the west side of Alcova along Lakeshore Drive, making it easily accessible from Casper.

The reservoir offers scenic recreation opportunities in central Wyoming's high plains basin. Paddlers and boaters can access the Alcova Reservoir system, which connects to the North Platte River ecosystem. Nearby attractions include Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge and the North Platte River, a renowned fishing destination. Note that water and utilities are not available at the campground itself, though a coin-operated water fill station is available elsewhere on the reservoir. Pete's Draw Campground is another option within 10 miles if Okie Beach is full.
