**Location & Access:**
Olbrich Park, located at 3401 Atwood Avenue in Madison, provides boat ramp access to Lake Monona at the mouth of Starkweather Creek. A Lake Access Permit is required to launch. The concrete ramp accommodates various watercraft, including kayaks, canoes, motorboats, and sailboats.
**Amenities & Facilities:**
This is a well-developed access point with restrooms, drinking water, parking, picnic tables, and a volleyball area. Canoe and kayak rentals are available on-site, along with concessions. The park also features swim ropes for beach swimmers. Note that paddlers have alternative access options from the Olbrich Park playfield lot or directly from where Starkweather Creek enters the lake.
**Boating Conditions:**
Lake Monona is primarily a powerboat lake, though paddlers do use it for kayaking. If paddling Starkweather Creek itself, be aware that the creek's boat ramps are noted as suboptimal access points for paddlers. Plan accordingly based on your experience level and whether you prefer creek paddling or open water.
