About This Access Site
Old Palmetto provides convenient public access to Black Bayou Reservoir near Benton in Bossier Parish. The facility features a paved boat ramp with dedicated trailer parking directly at the launch area, plus additional parking spaces across the street. The site is handicapped accessible and includes amenities such as restrooms, a picnic area, and a fishing pier. A free life jacket loaner station is available on-site. The ramp is open during daylight hours, from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.

Located just north of Shreveport-Bossier via Airline Drive (Highway 3105), this access point offers an excellent starting point for kayaking, canoeing, and boating on Black Bayou Reservoir.
