The Old School boat ramp provides public access to Aquilla Lake, a 3,280-acre impoundment located on Aquilla and Hackberry Creeks in Hill County. Situated on the lake's west shore off FM 933 between Waco and Whitney, this ramp offers convenient access to the picturesque waters for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The facility includes restrooms and ample parking to accommodate visitors.
**Important operational notes:** The Aquilla Lake Office no longer accepts cash payments for boat ramp use—card payment only. For assistance or questions, contact the Aquilla Lake Office at (254) 622-3332. Aquilla Lake has three public boat ramps total; if Old School is crowded, Dairy Hill ramp on the east shore offers an alternative access point. A free public fishing pier is also available at the tailrace below the dam for those interested in fishing.
