Old Town Access provides a convenient launch point for paddlers and boaters on the Bates County Drainage Ditch near Rich Hill in southwest Missouri. Located just 1 mile from the Four Rivers Conservation Area and roughly an hour from Kansas City, this site offers access to a network of waterways including the Marais Des Cygnes River and associated drainage systems. The ramp points slightly downstream and sits just after the Middle River confluence, making it a good starting point for exploring the surrounding waterway system.
The access area features not only a boat ramp but also primitive camping facilities and nearby recreational amenities. Paddlers should note that access to the ramp is from the river only. The site is situated in a scenic area with oxbow lakes and borrow pits that add to the recreational appeal of the region. Given its proximity to conservation lands, this is a good base for day trips or longer paddling excursions in the Marais Des Cygnes drainage system.
