About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities**
Otter Lake Park offers a well-maintained boat ramp located at mid-lake on the north side of Palmyra Blacktop in Girard, Macoupin County. The 765-acre man-made lake spans seven miles and features a developed park with a concession stand/bait shop, campground, picnic areas, and two pavilions available for rent. A sandy beach and kayak/canoe rental options are also available at the site.

**Paddling & Boating Conditions**
This all-sports lake enforces a 115 hp motor size limit, making it relatively quiet and suitable for paddlers. A key feature for kayakers and canoeists is the No-Wake Zone in effect from 7:30 pm to 11:00 am, providing peaceful conditions for early morning and evening paddling. Most shorelines feature steep banks lined with riprap, offering scenic views but limited landing options. The clean water and walkable shoreline make this an appealing destination for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and recreational boating.
