Located near Brenham in Washington County, the Lake Somerville Marina boat ramp provides convenient access to Somerville Lake on the Brazos River system. This is one of eleven boat ramps around the lake, making it part of a well-developed recreation area. To reach the marina, take Texas 36 South from Somerville, turn right on FM 1948, and continue about a quarter mile before turning onto the first road to the right—the marina is at the end of this access road.
The marina area offers more than just boat launching. The adjacent Lake Somerville Marina & Campground provides year-round camping with amenities including picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and showers. The broader Somerville Lake recreation area includes multiple US Army Corps of Engineers parks with similar facilities. Paddlers and boaters will find the lake suitable for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and swimming, with nearby Birch Creek and Nails Creek offering additional access points for paddling and fishing.
