Paddock Valley Reservoir is a 1,182-acre impoundment on Little Willow Creek in Washington County, Idaho, offering public boat access via a dedicated launch facility. The reservoir was created by Paddock Valley Dam, a 43-foot earthen dam constructed in 1949 for flood control and irrigation storage. With a normal surface area of 1,300 acres and maximum capacity of 36,400 acre-feet, this is a substantial water body suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating.
**Access & Directions:** To reach the ramp, take Sand Hollow Road/ID-52 West and turn right on Little Willow Road, continuing to Paddock Valley Road. The site provides access to approximately 1,140 acres of public BLM land that can be reached by water on the northeast side of the reservoir, offering paddlers opportunities to explore beyond the main water body. There are no special boating rules for the reservoir.
This is a good destination for paddlers seeking a larger, calmer water body in the Columbia Plateau region. The expansive reservoir and adjacent public lands make it suitable for day trips or longer explorations, though paddlers should be prepared for potential wind on larger open water.
