The Ohio River Boat Launch in Paducah is conveniently located at North 6th and Burnett Streets (275 Burnett Street), just north of downtown near the Julian Carroll Convention Center. This facility features a double-lane boat ramp with ample parking for day users, making it a practical access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. To reach the launch, cross the Greenway Trail that runs along the top of the floodwall levee. Please note that parking is restricted to designated areas only—avoid parking on the entry road or launch itself.
The Paducah ramp provides access to the Ohio River's Smithland Pool (Pool 52), a major navigation section located approximately 918.5 river miles below Pittsburgh. This portion of the Ohio River is a substantial, slow-moving waterway managed by navigation locks and dams, making it suitable for recreational paddling and boating. The nearby John T. Myers Locks and Dam is located about 3.5 miles downstream, so paddlers should be aware of navigation traffic in the area. The site also allows fishing, adding to its recreational versatility for visitors.
