About This Access Site
Palmer Lake is a 644-acre lake in Vilas County near Land O' Lakes, Wisconsin, offering public boat ramp access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The lake has a maximum depth of 13 feet and supports a healthy fishery including musky, northern pike, walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and panfish. This makes it an excellent destination for both paddling and fishing enthusiasts.

The access site is located at Pomeroy Lake Camp, a nearby campground facility available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're planning an extended trip, Pomeroy Lake Camp and several other campgrounds within 10 miles (including Moosehead Lake Camp and Sylvania Wilderness Backcountry Camping) offer nearby overnight options. Arrive early during peak seasons to secure a launch spot and campsite, and be prepared to pay on-site—some facilities accept payment via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature.
