About This Access Site
Palmer Lake Recreation Site near Loomis offers public boat access to Palmer Lake, a 2,042-acre reservoir in scenic Okanogan County. The BLM-managed access site features a concrete boat launch with parking, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. This is a no-fee access point managed by the Bureau of Land Management.

The lake supports year-round fishing for multiple species and is popular with anglers and recreational boaters. If you're accessing DNR-managed areas nearby, note that a Washington Discover Pass or Vehicle Access Pass is required. The site is located west of Loomis—from Tonasket, take Highway 97 to the Loomis-Oroville Highway and head west approximately 12 miles, then turn right on Washburn Lake Road to reach the access area. Split Rock Day Use Area, located on the southern tip of the lake, offers an alternative concrete ramp with paved parking if you prefer that location.
