Pandora Ramp

The Pandora access site in Harrodsburg provides boat launch access to Herrington Lake and the Dix River tailwater below the dam. This is a fee-based facility (honor system: $4 for canoes, $5 for trailer boats), managed by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife. The site offers concrete ramp facilities suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The Dix River tailwater below Herrington Lake Dam is notable for trout fishing and extends approximately one mile downstream. Paddlers with smaller watercraft can portage through the rapids to access the productive trout water below the dam. Note that live bait is prohibited once entering the Dix River. The nearby Camp Nelson National Monument offers additional recreation and historical interest in the area, and basic camping is available within 10 miles.

For those without access at Pandora, the closest alternative ramp is High Bridge Boat Ramp on the Kentucky River (off KY 29 in Jessamine County).
