About This Access Site
Patrick Lake is a 322-acre lake located in East Machias, Washington County, offering public boat access via a gravel launch facility. The ramp provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters looking to explore the lake and connect to the adjoining Rocky Lake Public Reserved Land (10,904 acres), managed by the Maine Department of Conservation. This makes it an excellent base for paddlers interested in exploring a larger network of water and forest resources in scenic eastern Maine.
The access site includes a gravel boat ramp, drive, and parking lot situated on a 2-acre property with frontage on both Patrick Lake and State Route 86. Lake permits are required for all watercraft—$5 for non-motorized boats (kayaks and canoes) and $25 for motorized craft. Permits can be purchased online or at the park office or entrance gate when staffed. The relatively gentle character of the 322-acre lake makes it suitable for paddlers of various skill levels.
