About This Access Site
Pawtucket Town Landing offers convenient access to the Seekonk River via a cement boat ramp that is wide but somewhat steep. This town-owned facility is located at the confluence of the Blackstone and Seekonk Rivers, just below where the Blackstone becomes tidal. The launch provides access to the widest section of the Seekonk River, where it expands to approximately half a mile wide and takes on more of an estuary character than a traditional river.

Paddlers heading north (upriver) can explore the narrower portions of the Seekonk and continue upstream to where the Blackstone River confluences, about 2.5 miles away. Beyond that point, you'll encounter the I-95 bridge crossing and Pawtucket Falls Dam. The area is known for excellent wildlife viewing, including winter waterfowl, Bald Eagles, hawks, and Osprey. This location is situated near the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park, an area rich in industrial heritage dating back to America's industrial revolution.
