About This Access Site
This public boat ramp on the east side of Lake Wauburg provides convenient access to a 300-acre lake ideal for paddling and light boating. The ramp accommodates canoes, kayaks, and small boats equipped with electric motors. Note that gasoline-powered boats are not permitted on Lake Wauburg, making it a peaceful destination for human-powered and electric watercraft. A fishing pier is also available if you're interested in angling during your visit.
The lake is located within Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park in Alachua County, offering paddlers a scenic natural setting. The park provides full-facility campsites for overnight visitors and offers ranger-led activities on weekends during the November through April season. No canoe rentals are available on-site, so bring your own watercraft. This is a good choice for casual paddling and fishing in a protected, motor-free environment.
