About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Penny Creek is a small launch located in Adams Run, Charleston County. From US 17, head south on Parkers Ferry Road for one mile, then turn right onto Penny Creek Road and continue to the landing at road's end. This is a modest facility managed by Charleston County with limited infrastructure—expect only one launching lane and parking for 4-5 vehicles. There are no restrooms on-site.

**Best For:** Penny Creek is ideal for kayakers and canoeists. The ramp is not recommended for launching standard-size motorized watercraft due to space and water depth constraints. The creek provides access to the scenic ACE Basin estuary, one of the East Coast's largest undeveloped estuarine systems formed by the Ashepoo, Combahee, and Edisto rivers. This area is part of the Ernest F. Hollings Ace Basin National Wildlife Refuge and the ACE Basin National Estuarine Research Reserve, offering excellent paddling through pristine tidal marshes and wildlife habitat.

**Plan Ahead:** With limited parking and no amenities, arrive early and come prepared. This is a small, quiet put-in best suited for paddlers seeking access to the remote beauty of ACE Basin rather than those needing full services.
