About This Access Site
This boat ramp in Winn provides convenient access to the scenic Penobscot River in central Maine. The launch site offers paddlers the flexibility to explore in either direction: head upstream toward the river's confluence with the Seboeis River, or paddle downstream to Whetstone Falls and the main stem of the Penobscot. The parking lot and vault toilet facilities are located across Seboeis Road from the ramp, making this a practical stopping point for day trips or longer paddling adventures.

The Penobscot River in this area supports diverse paddling experiences and is part of the larger Penobscot River Paddling Trail system that extends from Medway to Bucksport. This access point is ideal for canoeists and kayakers of varying skill levels who want to explore one of Maine's most historically significant and scenic river systems. The area also offers green space along the shoreline suitable for picnicking and rest breaks. Paddlers should plan their trips accordingly based on their desired distance and the river conditions at the time of visit.
