About This Access Site
This boat ramp in Orrington provides convenient access to the historic Penobscot River, one of Maine's major waterways. The facility includes a dedicated boat ramp near the parking area and offers green space along the shore. A vault toilet is available on-site, and an unloading area is provided near the ramp for convenient gear management before parking in the designated lot across Seboeis Road.

The Penobscot River at this location offers paddlers excellent versatility, with opportunities to explore both upstream and downstream sections. From here, kayakers and canoeists can paddle upstream to the river's confluence with the Seboeis River, or downstream toward Whetstone Falls and the main stem of the Penobscot. The river features a mix of flatwater and whitewater sections, making it suitable for various skill levels depending on your chosen route. This access point also serves as a gateway to longer paddling expeditions, with campsites available further along the river for multi-day trips.
