Peters Field Landing offers a public boat ramp, courtesy dock, and parking area on the Great Pee Dee River in Georgetown County near Hemingway. This is a well-developed access point ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The facility is located on the west/south side of the river at the end of Petersfield Landing Road, accessible off Old Pee Dee Road (State Road 36).

The Great Pee Dee River at this location is a substantial waterway—a major river system with a drainage area of over 7,300 square miles and an average flow of 9,000+ cubic feet per second. Paddlers should expect moderate current with an average velocity of 6.24 feet/second and a gentle gradient of 3.2 feet/mile. Downstream from Peters Field, the river extends approximately 235 miles to the mouth, with nearby access points like Punch Bowl Landing roughly 5 river miles upstream. The area is also popular for swimming and wading.
