About This Access Site
Pete's Landing offers convenient access to scenic Bayou Barbary, a peaceful tributary of the Amite River located in Livingston Parish. The launch facility features a concrete ramp and wooden pier, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. The site is situated on Highway 444, roughly midway between French Settlement and Killian, providing easy roadside access for paddlers in the area.

**Launch Details & Conditions:** A $5 launch fee is required, payable via an honor box system at the site. Water levels are an important consideration—when water is sufficiently high, paddlers can explore northward under Highway 444 into the narrow, winding sections of Bayou Barbary. The bayou's narrow character makes it particularly appealing for kayakers and canoeists seeking a more intimate paddling experience through forested wetlands typical of southeastern Louisiana waterways.
