About This Access Site
The Ontario Mill Pond boat ramp (parking lot B-1) provides access to one of three scenic impoundments within the Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area, a 5,000+ acre natural area established in 1956. This is an excellent launching point for kayakers and canoeists seeking a calm-water paddling experience among diverse wildlife habitat.

**Important regulations:** All watercraft are limited to electric motors only—no gas engines permitted. The area is popular with anglers, hunters, and wildlife observers, so check current waterfowl season restrictions and obtain any required hunting permits before visiting. The site offers picnic areas and good opportunities to observe migratory waterfowl and other wildlife throughout the year.

For current facility hours, specific access details, and seasonal closures, consult the DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife property map or contact local management. The Fish & Wildlife Area also features hiking trails, ice fishing opportunities in winter, and archery ranges across its various parcels.
