The Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area offers boat ramp access to Big Turkey Lake in LaGrange County, with multiple ramps distributed throughout the property. This is a DNR-managed facility suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. Electric motors are permitted on the lake. Note that canoeing and kayaking may be restricted during waterfowl season, so contact the office ahead of your visit to confirm access.
**Facilities & Amenities:** Pit toilet restrooms are available at the park headquarters and Curtis Creek Trout Rearing Station. There are no paved trails on the property. The nearest gas and snacks can be found at a convenience station in nearby Mongo, Indiana.
**Important Restrictions:** Swimming is prohibited. A fishing and/or hunting license (plus additional permits for hunting) may be required depending on your activities. For specific seasonal restrictions and current conditions, contact the Pigeon River FWA office before heading out.
