Pikie Bay offers a concrete boat ramp providing access to the expansive 4,670-acre Mosquito Lake in Cortland, Ohio. Located adjacent to US Highway 2, this access point is convenient for boaters and paddlers launching into Pike Bay, the northern section of the larger 7,241-acre Mosquito Lake. The bay is known for excellent fishing opportunities, particularly for walleye, northern pike, crappie, and panfish, making it popular with both recreational and serious anglers.
The lake accommodates all boat types with no horsepower limitations and has a maximum depth of 24 feet. Pikie Bay is especially productive during early spring right after ice-out, when pike move into shallow spawning areas—a prime time for kayakers and canoeists to explore. Be aware that water levels can fluctuate seasonally, which may affect shallow-water access in some areas. For additional amenities and information, Mosquito Lake State Park is also located on the lake with a marina and additional facilities.
