About This Access Site
The Pine River Road access point provides public boat launch facilities on Pine River Flowage, a 123-acre lake in Florence County, Wisconsin. This modest-sized waterbody is suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats, with a maximum depth of 35 feet. The lake supports a healthy fishery including panfish, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, making it popular with anglers and recreational paddlers alike.

To reach the access site, take US-23 north to the City of Standish and turn east on Cedar Street, then continue on Pine River Road for approximately 7 miles to the MDNR sign at Wigwam Access. The site features a dock for boat launching, making entry convenient for both motorized and non-motorized craft. Paddlers should note that this is one of several public landings serving the flowage, so you may have options depending on your intended route on the water.
