The Pineville access point on the Elk River offers a free public boat launch located at 100 Conservation Lane (off Rhine Street) in Pineville, McDonald County. This facility, which opened in spring 2010, includes a boat ramp, public bathrooms, and parking—making it a convenient put-in spot for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The site is well-maintained and popular with local paddlers and tourists exploring this scenic southwestern Missouri river.

The Elk River at Pineville is a substantial waterway—a large stream (USGS stream order 6) with an average flow of approximately 2,758 cubic feet per second and an average velocity of 4.17 feet per second.
