Piney Bluff

Piney Bluff is a universally accessible boat ramp facility located on Belews Creek in Forsyth County, NC (8635 Belews Creek Rd). The site offers one boat ramp, a courtesy dock, parking, and restroom facilities—making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The access area is located on the west side of Greensboro; take Highway 68 north toward Stokesdale, turn left on Highway 65, and continue approximately 4.5-5 miles.

Belews Creek is a medium-sized stream (Stream Order 5) with moderate current and gradient suitable for recreational paddling. The creek features an average flow of 77.64 cubic feet per second with an average velocity of 1.96 feet per second, making it manageable for paddlers of varying skill levels. The creek drains a 72-square-mile watershed and has an overall slope of 17.3 feet per mile, providing scenic Piedmont paddling through the Appalachian foothills.

The surrounding area offers good fishing opportunities for largemouth bass, sunfish, catfish, and crappie.
