About This Access Site
Pinnacle Mountain State Park offers a convenient boat ramp and river access point for paddlers and small boaters on the scenic Maumelle River. The Maumelle is a medium-sized river that flows for nearly 46 miles, with an average gradient of 17.5 feet per mile and an average flow of around 193 cubic feet per second.

The boat ramp is located just off Highway 300, with ample parking available. From the ramp, paddlers can explore the Maumelle River and its tributaries, the Big and Little Maumelle. The river offers a peaceful, natural setting and is popular with kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. For those without their own gear, kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at self-serve kiosks near the Big Maumelle Pavilion and West Summit Trail access points within the park.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park also provides extensive hiking and mountain biking opportunities, making it a great destination for both water and land-based recreation. Nearby attractions include the historic Little Rock Central High School and the Arkansas River, one of the largest tributaries of the Mississippi.
