Plank Road Meadow boat launch

**Location & Access:** Plank Road Meadow offers convenient public access to the Des Plaines River in Lyons, Cook County, near the confluence with Salt Creek. The launch is located on the north side of Ogden Avenue just east of First Avenue. The site features a paved parking lot and well-maintained boat ramp, making it easily accessible for launching and retrieving trailers.

**What to Expect:** This is a primary trailered boat launch suitable for canoes, kayaks, rowboats, sailboats, and small motorboats with trolling motors. The ramp is one of the most convenient river access points in the area, providing entry to the Des Plaines River's winding forest preserve stretches. From here, paddlers can explore upstream or head south through Riverside's historic river bends. A portable bathroom is available seasonally (May 1–October 31, weather permitting).

**Nearby Recreation:** The site is close to Pullman National Historical Park, offering additional exploration opportunities in the surrounding Chicago neighborhood when you're not on the water.
