Platte Creek Recreation Area provides boat ramp access to Dry Creek-Platte Creek in south-central South Dakota, located approximately 8 miles west and 10 miles south of Platte via SD Highway 44 (or 6 miles south and 8 miles west via Highway 50). The facility is accessed off 282nd Street and offers a dedicated boat ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The recreation area is well-equipped with practical amenities including flush toilets, drinking water, a fish cleaning station, and a dump station for RV users.
This day-use and fishing access site is ideal for paddlers seeking a developed launch point with full facilities. The area features ADA-accessible features and a campground with electrical hookups (if overnight camping is desired), picnic tables, and fire rings.
