Plum Orchard Lake offers multiple public boat ramps and docks for paddlers and boaters in southern West Virginia near Oak Hill. The main ramp near the dam includes a 32-foot floating dock, while additional ramps are located along Park Forest Road on the lake's west side. Paddlers should note that the southernmost ramp on Park Forest Road is better suited for kayaks and canoes. A concrete boat ramp and dock facilities are available year-round.
The lake itself, created in 1962, reaches a maximum depth of 40 feet with an average depth of 15 feet, making it suitable for various water activities. To reach the access site from I-77, take Exit 54 at Pax and follow CR-23 to the lake.
