Pointe Au Chien Marina

Located in Terrebonne Parish about 15 miles southeast of Houma, Pointe Au Chien Marina provides access to Bayou Pointe Au Chien and the surrounding Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area. The facility offers a renovated boat launch suitable for various watercraft, along with a dedicated pirogue launch for smaller vessels and kayaks. This is the primary access point for exploring the interior bayou system, as road access is limited throughout the region.

The marina is well-equipped for paddlers and boaters with multiple amenities on-site, including kayak rentals, fishing docks, and accommodations such as rooms and RV parking. The area is ideal for fishing and wildlife viewing in Louisiana's coastal wetlands. Expect saltwater or brackish conditions typical of this region. Given the remote nature of the interior waterways, paddlers should come prepared with proper navigation and safety equipment, as access to the interior is largely limited to boats.
