Ponce de Leon Park offers convenient access to Charlotte Harbor from a well-developed 10-acre facility in Punta Gorda. The site features a concrete boat ramp approximately 25 feet wide suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger vessels, plus a courtesy dock and hand-launching area for paddlers. A single launching lane serves most watercraft, with 10 paved trailer parking spaces available. Parking fees apply via kiosk system.
Beyond the ramp, the park provides amenities ideal for a full day of recreation, including picnic pavilions and tables, restrooms, a man-made beach, playground, and scenic vistas of Charlotte Harbor. Two fishing piers on site offer additional activities. The location provides excellent access to the shallow bays and waters of Charlotte Harbor, making it a good departure point for exploring the nearby Island Bay National Wildlife Refuge with its abundant shorebirds and shallow-water paddling opportunities.
