Pop's Landing

Pop's Landing is a public boat ramp providing access to Big Cypress Bayou and Lake O' the Pines in Marion County, Texas. Located on the south-central portion of the lake, this ramp serves as a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters exploring the 18,700-acre lake and surrounding waterways. The landing offers scenic views of the piney woods landscape typical of Northeast Texas. Note that the facility appears to receive moderate use and may show signs of age.

**Getting There:** From Lone Star, take US 259 south and turn left on FM 729 before the bridge at Big Cypress Creek. The ramp access road is approximately 1 mile south of this intersection.

**Nearby Amenities:** Two reservable campgrounds are located within 10 miles—Johnson Creek Camp and Alley Creek Camp—making this a good option for multi-day paddling trips. Lake O' the Pines offers over 9,000 acres of land-based recreation in addition to its extensive water-based opportunities, with multiple other marinas and access points around the lake if you need alternative facilities.
