About This Access Site
The Port of Chinook offers a well-developed launch facility on Baker Bay at the confluence of the Columbia River, making it an excellent access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The site features a six-lane public boat ramp, ample parking, and full amenities including flush restrooms and picnic areas. A dredged, marked channel leads from the Columbia River near the east end of Baker Bay to the protected basin at Chinook, providing safe navigation to deeper water.

This is a commercial and recreational marine facility with extensive services available, including fuel (gasoline and diesel), water, ice, and marine supplies. A 6-ton hoist is available for engine work, and berths with electricity are offered for those planning extended stays. The site is ideal for paddlers looking to explore the lower Columbia River and Baker Bay's protected waters, as well as access to nearby Lewis and Clark National Historical Park and the Lewis and Clark National Wildlife Refuge, which stretches over 27 miles and encompasses approximately 20 islands.
